Professor P. N. Shivakumar and Family Bursary in Mathematics
This bursary is awarded annually to an undergraduate student who:
- is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Science, in any Major or Honours program in Mathematics;
- has achieved a minimum degree grade point point average of 2.5;
- has demonstrated financial need on the standard University of Manitoba bursary application form.
Professor P. N. Shivakumar and his family established this endowment fund at the University of Manitoba in remembrance of Professor Nagappa (Visiting Professor, 1967-1968) and Mrs. Saroja Nagappa, late parents of Professor Shivakumar. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has also made a contribution to the fund.
Professor P. N. Shivakumar has been a professor at the University of Manitoba since 1967. His areas of research include finite and infinite matrices and applications, industrial mathematics and mathematical biology.
