About Us

The Department of Mathematics counts 31 faculty members, 5 emeritus professors, 17 senior scholars, 32 graduate students and 6 support staff. We have an enrollment of over 8500 undergraduate students.

Research areas include algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, approximation theory, combinatorics, complex analysis, computer algebra, foundations, functional analysis, harmonic analysis, mathematical biology, matrix theory and computations, number theory, numerical analysis, operator theory, operator algebras and partial differential equations.

Our offices are located on the fourth and fifth floors of Machray Hall in the north-east corner of the Fort Garry campus, as well as in St. John's College and St. Paul's College.
